Ok! So I'm not the best blogger in the world! I feel like we so communicate the old fashion style - face to face, telephone - something more personal!

But here's my life now

Ammon - sophomore in college (wow where does the time fly) and has announced that this coming summer he wants to go on a mission. YIPPEE!!! I am so happy.

Cesar - same old same old....his landscape business has picked up :)

Me - busy with YW stuff to no end.... The Frankford branch is doing well.

Girls Camp 2009

Young Women's Camp 2009 at Camp Mack

These are all (well not all) the fourth year girls that went on the hike and camped overnight. I was not able to attend the hike. I am glad too because those back packs were heavy! Melanie (middle) has a shirt that jinxed the hike. Two of the girls (one from my branch) got lost on the way back from the hike.

Here are the girls from Frankford branch that went on the hike. Jessica Klenk, Charlesette Sudler, Lykifha Cherry and Chentelle Jenkins... Did they have fun? Well they all complained to me about it, over and over...but for some odd reason they are all planning on going again next year. :)

They will all be YCLs (youth camp leaders I believe is the new term)

The Lost Sheep have returned!!!!

Luckily Chentelle decided to leave her back pack on the ground to go look for them that's how the girls found their way back.

A little bit of Frankford Branch

Here I am with 2 women in the branch. I know its been some time since I've written a blog but getting a branch up and running takes a lot of work. :)

Rose St. Clair (left) served a little while as the enrichment counselor in Relief Society.

Yadira Blanco (right) served as the educational counselor.

This is Matilde Taborda. She is a wonderful woman with a kind heart. She served as RS secretary.

Then the presidency decided to confuse the congregation and change the presidencies around and now I am currently serving as YW president.

She is now serving in primary along with Rose and Yadira. They love their callings and you can see that serving the Lord brings smiles to everyone they touch.

Here are some more wonderful women from church. Natasha Cadet (left) is not in the branch boundaries but we were trying to recruit her. :)

Yah Zowa Boyah (Center) served in primary for some time.

Delores Cookey (right) was a teacher in RS but now she is currently serving in primary.

These women were the Young women leaders at the start of the branch. In the far back is Nakia Williams who is now serving in primary. Her twins sons were just recently baptized.

Diana Stokes is slightly in front of Nakia, stayed in YW for some time but she has just recently been released so I guess I'll know where her new calling is sometime soon.

Erica Doughty (front of room) is currently serving in RS.

There are many amazing women that serve in the church. They really love the Lord and their sisters. I sadly do not have pictures of them all but they really have touched my heart forever; Natalie Buchkovich, Rolis Gonzalez, Sally Moore, Frances Horton, Frances Kent, and many more that are outside of the branch.

I love serving my Lord and Savior.

Old houses are so interesting. Cesar was in the crawl space under the kitchen to repair a leak, which turned out to be even more of a task then expected as always the problem when repairing an old home. There is always more to be done then you think a simple job would take.

BIG, BIG, BIG ROOT... there use to be a siccamore tree that lived on the side of my house about 3 yrs ago. The city took it down and insisted that they took the trunk and the roots died...well when we carried these things out (oh yes we took 5 of these babies out of this little crawl space. i didn't think to get my camera right away) anywhoo they poured out water like the faucet was on high.

Uncle Bob's 50th Bday

Here are SOME of my family members. We are celebrating my Uncle Bob's 50th Bday. I must stress SOME because I come from a large family. My mom is one of 14 children. I am one of 33 grandchildren. My son is one of 18 (I think...I lost track) Great grandchildren. Cesar met some more family members and was shocked that there are still more people that he doesn't know after we have been married for over a year. (And this is only my mom's side)

News Flash

Well its a new school year. My son is a senior! wow! He has many tours of different colleges to look at. (is it wrong to be too excited for him to go off to college?) He has his own goals: to be on honor roll all year, and not miss a day of school. He is going to seminary for the 4th year and now its early morning. (I remember those days). He goes to Temple University for a program specially designed for high school students, that like math and science. It helps them prepare for college. He goes there 2x a week. He is still very active in Scouts. He just recently finished his last merit badge and only needs to do his eagle project. (needs to complete this before he is 18). He is also active in church and has a stake calling as a youth rep for activities.

My husband is doing well. His arm has problems at times. He got a cortizone (spell?) shot and it hasn't bothered him since. (we'll see how it feels in a few months after it wears off). His heart is working well also. He goes to the doctors for a follow up next week. He is planning on starting his own landscaping business next season.

As for myself...well, adapting to having 2 men in the house...is a challenge. (Both of them are very high maintenance). Next week i'm returning to school to finish up my bachelor's degree. Its hard to find a university that has a BA for interpreting for the Deaf. I am finishing it up completely online. So next december i should graduate. (if things go my way). In addition to all this craziness i've brought on for myself, the Lord has thrown more my way. A new branch will be starting in my area. Its exciting but i'm nervous.

Date Night

Don't be jealous now...My hubby can sure show a girl a good time. This is a weeks worth of evenings together. Nothing but clothes that normally we just give to the goodwill just because we don't want it anymore. Cesar wanted to give to people less fortunate in Brazil. This is his 3rd box that he has sent. Brazil is a very poor country, with a lot of farms, except for the big cities of course. School is not manditory there and getting into a college...well, you need to prove you are the best before they even think of accepting you. Cesar is amazed at how many colleges there are here in the US. Ammon is in his Senior year of high school and the plethora of college ads has just awed Cesar. The box takes about 3 months to arrive to its destination.

We spent an evening rolling clothes. Three nights putting it all into boxes. If you ever need someone to pack stuff up and you don't have a lot of space, Cesar is your man. I can't believe how many items are in this huge box. Can you guess?

Third layer placed compact and uniform... Everything is set in categories. Women's shirts, then women's pants, then women's dresses, then men's shirts...

Time to add some toys and other odds and ends.

BACKGROUND INFO:

Cesar has always lived pay check to pay check. He didn't have toys when he was little and hardly any clothes. Now living here in the US he sees so much that we take for granted. Though he enjoys himself now and again by going to the movies or dinner, he wants to contribute to others less fortunate. I was counting all the items going into the box (shoes, jackets, pants, dresses, toys etc) but lost count at the end because we had to remove some things to put other things in that we decided were more important. All together we approximately sent 475 things. Ammon was away this week in Temple University experiencing college life in an upward bound program. Can you believe he missed all this fun?

I don't know what it is...I am NOT a slacker like Natalie B. !! LOL (jk) I have been trying to upload pictures...movies...misc.....there is a problem in my land of make believe...can't figure it out. I'm so sad. I have a world (not just the one that i sing about--la la la la, carleen's world. elmo really ripped me off before i could get the patent on that song) and i can not control it. :(

Welcome to Carleens land of make believe!!! Yes she finally has a blog. Carleen wanted to be able to have a blog, and most of all read everyone else's blog, so I volunteered to make her one so here it is!

So this is a good opportunity to say how awesome she is! I think the pennypack ward could not function without Carleen. Her love and hard work is what brings us all in and makes us want to be there. She is like a second mom to Annalise and many othere. I hope to always be friends.

Tomorrow is Carleen and Cesars one year anniversary! That is very exciting. Life in the Silva home has been a learning experience for everyone this last year as they have learned to communicate in two languages and a little sign language. Congrats you two!!!
