Date Night

Don't be jealous now...My hubby can sure show a girl a good time. This is a weeks worth of evenings together. Nothing but clothes that normally we just give to the goodwill just because we don't want it anymore. Cesar wanted to give to people less fortunate in Brazil. This is his 3rd box that he has sent. Brazil is a very poor country, with a lot of farms, except for the big cities of course. School is not manditory there and getting into a college...well, you need to prove you are the best before they even think of accepting you. Cesar is amazed at how many colleges there are here in the US. Ammon is in his Senior year of high school and the plethora of college ads has just awed Cesar. The box takes about 3 months to arrive to its destination.

We spent an evening rolling clothes. Three nights putting it all into boxes. If you ever need someone to pack stuff up and you don't have a lot of space, Cesar is your man. I can't believe how many items are in this huge box. Can you guess?
Third layer placed compact and uniform... Everything is set in categories. Women's shirts, then women's pants, then women's dresses, then men's shirts...
Cesar strategically placing the clothes in the box and stopping it down to compact it.
Time to add some toys and other odds and ends.
BACKGROUND INFO:
Cesar has always lived pay check to pay check. He didn't have toys when he was little and hardly any clothes. Now living here in the US he sees so much that we take for granted. Though he enjoys himself now and again by going to the movies or dinner, he wants to contribute to others less fortunate. I was counting all the items going into the box (shoes, jackets, pants, dresses, toys etc) but lost count at the end because we had to remove some things to put other things in that we decided were more important. All together we approximately sent 475 things. Ammon was away this week in Temple University experiencing college life in an upward bound program. Can you believe he missed all this fun?

I am SOOOOOO impressed by how much he was able to compact in there. He should hire out as a professional packer. With his skills we could use less room in our moving truck. :)

Do you take donations, or how do you get all the stuff you send?

That is awsome. Cesar has a big heart. Awsome on the packing skills. But it looks like you guys had a litle more fun than just packing(wink, wink). Good thing Ammon was away.

You two are awesome! What a treat for people in his country, and what a treat for both of you to work on that together! Are the toys new, used?? Let me know.

The toys were used just like the clothes. But it they were stained or ripped, etc. we didn't put them in obviously. He sees something nice that others are throwing away and thinks hmmm i'll save this for the box. But that will be the last box for a while. the cost to ship it raised an additional $90. But it was fun.

WHOAH! Let's just say that I'm extremely impressed, almost speechless. It's so easy to just dump off my garbage bags full of that stuff to a donation center, but what you guys did is truly admirable! Your wedding pictures are great!
